Over 16.7 million doses of the Covid vaccination have been provided in the country thus far ahead of Eid Al-Adha 2021, according to the National Command And Operation Centre (NCOC).

According to the NCOC, more than 16.7 million doses have been administered across the country, and the Moderna COVID vaccine has also begun to be administered at the Islamabad mass vaccination centre.

The country’s COVID-19 decision-making body has issued instructions for Eid Al Adha, asking responsible agencies to ensure that livestock markets are formed outside of towns to prevent the virus from spreading.

It stated that “a total ban on the selling of sacrificial animals within the premises of cities would remain in place.” “The livestock market’s employees and merchants should be vaccinated.”

A delegation led by DG NCOC visited Gilgit Baltistan to assess the immunisation procedure, according to the organisation.

The National Ministry of Health has already published COVID recommendations for use during Eid Al-Adha, as well as expressing worry that livestock markets might become a source of viral propagation in the country.

“In addition to enforcing instructions about facemask, social distance should be enforced at livestock markets,” the ministry stated.

It went on to say that, in addition to cleaning the hands of visitors, the temperature of individuals entering the market should be monitored.
