ISLAMABAD – Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), dismissed rumours of an agreement on Tuesday.
Maryam Nawaz, speaking to the media after appearing before the Islamabad High Court (IHC), questioned the logic for making a deal, saying that they were not foolish to do so after so many difficulties and a lengthy battle.
In response to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statement about engaging the province’s estranged people, the PML-N leader stated that she supports addressing Baloch grievances, but added that the Hazara community was also from the province, and that Imran Khan refused to visit the protesting families until their dead were buried.
When asked about the polls in Azad Kashmir, Maryam Nawaz stated that everyone knows the PML-N has a strong position there and that if free and fair elections are held, her party will win.
In response to a query regarding her absence from the PDM Swat event, she stated that the party president was present at the public gathering and that there was no need for her to go since Shehbaz Sharif was already present.
