Nawaz Sharif is getting better treatment, ‘His domicile is better than mine.’ Asif Zardari

ISLAMABAD: Former President Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif’s domicile was “better” than his, implying that he is being treated unfairly because of his race.

Zardari was asked to offer his perspective on whether the laws were different for him and the PML-N leader outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC), where he had attended for a bail hearing against his will.

He was alluding to latent animosity of the majority Punjabi ethnic group among Pakistan’s minor ethno-linguistic communities. Zardari was informed he had to attend the hearing in person, despite his counsel’s pleas that he not be forced to owing to his bad health.

When asked if he would encourage Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan, the PPP stalwart responded that he would not offer anyone advice, but that if they wanted to, they could.
