ISLAMABAD – Shahzad Akbar, the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Accountability and Interior, stated on Monday that the government will not allow Shehbaz Sharif, the former Punjab Chief Minister and vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), to leave overseas.
On Monday, Shahzad Akbar, flanked by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry and Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar, responded to opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif’s statement by saying that his health has deteriorated since he was not allowed to travel to London, adding that he was summoned to respond to questions but the PML-N vice president refused.
He said that in the past, people like Saif-ur-Rehman existed, and that when they become dissatisfied, they assault institutions.
“When Hamza Shahbaz was asked about transactions and money laundering, he said Rizwan Sahib!” the advisor added. Despite the fact that the FIA officer ignored the warning, as I previously stated, time does not stand still.
In response to a question about the country’s political situation and the ongoing election campaign in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-position Insaf’s in AJK is very strong, as evidenced by the fact that it has fielded candidates in all constituencies. He said that the Pakistan Peoples Party is only running for eight seats in the polls, and that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is likewise unsure about its future in Azad Kashmir.
In response to PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif’s press conference today, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain stated that the former Punjab Chief Minister should face the charges of corruption against him rather than pointing fingers at the government.
Hammad Azhar, speaking at the event, stated that there is no scheduled load-shedding in any region of the nation. According to him, the present load-shedding is due to a faulty power transmission infrastructure.
He stated that the present transmission system has a capacity of 24,000 megawatts of power. He stated that the government is trying to improve the transmission system, which has seen its capacity increase from 20,000 to 24,000 megawatts so far.
