According to the Khaleej Times, the UAE government has granted Shoaib Malik, Pakistan’s former cricket captain, and his wife, Indian tennis star Sania Mirza, a 10-year Golden Visa.
In 2019, the UAE government announced the introduction of its golden visa system for long-term residency permits. The visa is valid for 5 or 10 years and is automatically renewed.
Sania Mirza married Shoaib Malik in April 2010 and their son Izhaan was born in October 2018. The couple has been residing in Dubai since their marriage, alternating their time between India and Pakistan.
Mirza recently returned to Wimbledon, where she and her doubles partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States advanced to the second round.
Malik, on the other side, was last seen in the Pakistan Super League, when he finished as Peshawar Zalmi’s leading run-scorer.
