KARACHI: As the number of coronavirus infections in the city rises, officials in the city’s Korangi District enforced a smart lockdown on Sunday in an attempt to halt the spread of the virus.
The smart lockdown has been enforced in Korangi District’s Rafah-e-Aam Society, Shah Faisal Colony, and Gulzar Colony, according to an article in Daily Jang.
The district has been placed on a smart lockdown until August 31.
All marketplaces in Lahore, on the other hand, will be closed today (Sunday) according to instructions from the city’s deputy commissioner.
Over the last week, Pakistan has seen a steady increase in coronavirus infections, with the coronavirus positive ratio breaking the 5% threshold and the country reporting over 2,500 cases.
