NSA Yusuf claims Pakistan is being targeted by hybrid warfare in a briefing on the Afghan ‘abduction’ event.

Pakistan, according to National Security Adviser Dr. Moeed Yusuf, is presently the target of “hybrid warfare,” with an extensive network of information warfare being deployed against the country.

He made the comments during a news conference in Islamabad last week about the purported kidnapping and release of the Afghan ambassador’s daughter.

Yusuf remembered that the EU DisinfoLab had revealed a network of bogus websites and media outlets located in India that were spreading anti-Pakistan misinformation.

He said that false accounts and bots were being used to spread a “narrative” against Pakistan, including the incident involving the daughter of the Afghan envoy.

He added hashtags were being trended on a regular basis to generate misleading perceptions, such that Pakistan “is doing something [wrong] in Afghanistan” and that the security situation in Pakistan was terrible, as he shared slides with data obtained by the government.

“This is part of an organised effort against Pakistan, with multiple fronts being established,” he added, adding that the same accounts who conducted “false propaganda” about Balochistan or Kashmir were also conducting propaganda about the purported kidnapping event. Some of these accounts, according to Yusuf, were controlled from within Pakistan, while the remainder were controlled from Afghanistan, India, and the West.

Silsila, Ambassador Najibullah Alikhil’s daughter, was reportedly kidnapped from Islamabad’s business district on Friday by unidentified individuals who allegedly tortured her.

She was going home in a cab in the afternoon after visiting a bakery in Islamabad’s Blue Area when the driver picked up another guy who verbally insulted and attacked her, according to her. She was subsequently discovered comatose on the side of the road. Her medical report said that she had been abused physically.
