Prime Minister Imran Khan said late Tuesday that Pakistan has returned 62 Saudi Arabian inmates ahead of Eid ul Adha, after the government made special preparations for their return.

“Funds were arranged on my directions, and a special flight brought back 62 inmates from Saudi Arabia today so they could be with their families for Eid,” the prime minister stated in a tweet.

“My government’s promise to our people is to assist Pakistanis in foreign prisons and in their repatriation to Pakistan,” Prime Minister Imran Khan stated.

Fawad Chaudhry, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, praised the prime minister, saying that no previous administration has demonstrated as much sympathy for Pakistanis living abroad as PM Imran Khan’s.

“The prime minister’s efforts are responsible for [these] families’ happiness. Thousands of Pakistanis who had been stranded overseas had been repatriated “he stated

PM Imran Khan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz conducted delegation-level discussions in May to discuss bilateral relations and ways to improve collaboration.

During the meeting, the two nations also inked a number of agreements aimed at improving bilateral cooperation in areas like as energy, media, and prisoner exchange, among others.

A deal was also reached between the two nations for the exchange of condemned criminals, as well as a deal to combat crime.

Fawad had stated at a post-cabinet meeting news briefing earlier this month that a special jet will be created to transport 85 Saudi Arabian detainees back to the United States.

According to the report, the Kingdom has already released hundreds of inmates in accordance with Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s pledge made during his visit to the country in 2019.

“We’re attempting to repatriate a number of our imprisoned individuals who weren’t involved in significant crimes, and the administration is working hard to do so,” he added.
