LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has instructed that the cleaning effort be continued on the third day of Eid-ul-Adha.
CM Buzdar said in a statement on Friday that the city should have the best sanitation and cleanliness arrangements as it had yesterday.
He ordered that the cleaning trucks continue to patrol the streets and neighbourhood on a regular basis. He went on to say that the trash should be picked up as soon as possible and disposed of appropriately.
Solid waste management businesses and related authorities, according to Usman Buzdar, should make every effort to maintain cities clean. The cities have been cleaned using all available resources.
He went on to say that residents should have no concerns about cleanliness since it would not be compromised.
If there is a complaint about cleanliness, the personnel would face disciplinary action, he said, adding that the city must seem clean at all times.
He also advised residents to contact the cleaning cell and have the debris taken up as soon as possible after the animal was sacrificed.
Usman Buzdar conducted a comprehensive tour to several districts of Lahore without any formality yesterday to evaluate the city’s cleanliness status.
CM Usman Buzdar visited Davis Road, Shimla Pahari, Empress Road, Cooper Road, Montgomery Road, McLeod Road, and Lakshmi Chowk to check the sanitation infrastructure.
Mayo Hospital Road, Mall Road, Multan Road, Lytton Road, Ferozepur Road, Shah Jamal, Shadman, and other locations were also watched by Usman Buzdar.
The chief minister spent nearly two hours driving around the city. During this period, no traffic was halted anywhere. He also came to a halt and chatted with the cleaning crew.
CM Buzdar praised the employees for carrying out their responsibilities in maintaining a clean environment for the residents. He also told them to make the cleaning process go faster and more efficiently.
On the occasion, he stated that the city’s Zero Waste Operation should be ensured at all costs since cleanliness would not be compromised. Garbage and trash should be collected as quickly as possible, he emphasised.
