RAWALPINDI: General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has said that the Pakistan-China relationship is unique and robust, and that it has shown its durability in difficult times.
He was speaking during a ceremony commemorating the 94th anniversary of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s establishment, which was held at General Headquarters today (Thursday).
The Pakistan-China cooperation is becoming increasingly vital for regional peace and stability, according to COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The army commander stated that the PLA and Pakistan Army are brothers in arms, and that their cooperation would continue to benefit our shared interests.
The COAS praised the PLA’s leadership for its contributions to China’s defence, security, and nation-building.
China’s Defence Attaché expressed gratitude to the COAS for holding a reception on the eve of the PLA’s 94th anniversary.
The Defence Attaché said China and Pakistan are iron brothers, all-weather allies, and strategic partners, recalling Chinese President Xi Jinping’s opinion that the Pakistan Armed Forces constitute the basis of Pak-China strategic relations.
He stated that regardless of how the international scenario evolves, we will always remain together in protecting our national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and regional peace and stability.
The ceremony was attended by Nong Rang, the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Major General Chen Wenrong, Chinese Embassy officials, and officers from Pakistan’s tri-services.
