Ex-US President Trump has demanded Joe Biden’s resignation for the situation in Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former US President Donald Trump requested Joe Biden’s resignation on Monday, citing the Taliban’s quick takeover of Afghanistan after US soldiers departed after almost two decades on the ground.

“It is time for Joe Biden to retire in shame for what he has allowed to happen in Afghanistan,” Trump said in a statement. He also chastised Biden for the rise of Covid-19 cases in the United States, as well as his domestic immigration, economic, and energy policies.

Thousands of people flocked to the city’s airport to avoid the Taliban’s feared harsh rule as triumphant Taliban militants patrolled Kabul following a startlingly quick conclusion to Afghanistan’s 20-year conflict.

As the militants ringed the capital on Sunday night, President Ashraf Ghani fled the nation, sealing a military triumph that saw them seize all cities in just ten days.

“With the judgement of their swords and weapons, the Taliban have triumphed, and they are now accountable for their countrymen’s honour, property, and self-preservation,” Ghani declared after departing.

Without the assistance of the US military, which invaded in 2001 following the September 11 attacks and deposed the Taliban for supporting Al-Qaeda, the government forces crumbled.
