Afghan guard killed in shootout at Kabul airport

BERLIN, Germany (AFP) – After Afghan guards and unknown intruders opened fire at Kabul airport on Monday, German and US soldiers participated in a gun fight, with one guard dead, according to the German army.

“An exchange of fire took place at the North Gate of Kabul airport this morning at 4.13 a.m. between Afghan security and unknown attackers. The German army claimed on Twitter that an Afghan guard was killed and three others were injured, and that its soldiers and their American counterparts “participated in a further exchange of fire.””
