KABUL: In response to the US drone strike in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar region, Suhail Shaheen, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s political office, warned that Washington will have no authority to attack the nation after August 31.

According to Reuters, the US launched a drone strike against a Daesh attack “planner” in eastern Afghanistan on Friday, a day after a suicide bombing at Kabul airport killed 13 US servicemen and hundreds of Afghan civilians.

In response to a query about whether the US carried out the drone strike with the Taliban’s permission, Suhail Shaheen stated that the Taliban-led government in Afghanistan will prohibit any such assault after August 31. He stated

Meanwhile, the Taliban’s chief spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, called an overnight US drone strike against Daesh terrorists in response to Thursday’s suicide assault near the airport a “clear attack on Afghan soil,” according to Reuters.

He believed that the US should have notified them before to the strike.

Concerning the new cabinet, Mujahid stated that an announcement will be made in the next week, but in a subsequent voice message, he stated that the makeup of the new cabinet would be cleared “in one or two weeks.”
