Pakistan versus. New Zealand: The New Zealand team cancels its trip of Pakistan due to a ‘security concern.’

RAWALPINDI: The New Zealand cricket team cancelled their visit of Pakistan on Friday after alerting the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of a “security concern,” according to a statement released by the PCB.

“Earlier today, New Zealand Cricket informed us that they had been notified to some security alert and had unilaterally decided to postpone the series,” the press release states.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board and the government of Pakistan established flawless security measures for all visiting teams.” We have given New Zealand Cricket the same assurance. Pakistan’s prime leader directly briefed New Zealand’s prime minister that Pakistan has one of the greatest intelligence systems in the world.

According to the PCB, the security personnel who travelled with the New Zealand squad were happy with the security measures established by the Pakistan government throughout their stay in Pakistan.

“While the PCB is eager to complete the planned matches, cricket fans in Pakistan and around the world would be disappointed by this last-minute withdrawal,” the PCB declared.

NZ will hear us at ICC, says PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja

As expected, the news of New Zealand abandoning the Pakistan tour at the last minute did not go down with PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja.

Describing it a “crazy” day, Raja said he felt sorry for Pakistani fans and players

PTI’s Senator Faisal Javed Khan expressed disappointment over New Zealand cricket’s decision, saying that it is “beyond understanding.”
