Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has dismissed Fayyaz ul Hassan Chohan from his position as Punjab government spokesperson.
Hasaan Khawar has been appointed as the Punjab government’s spokesman in lieu of Chohan.
Khawar will now serve as the Punjab government’s official spokesperson while also holding the role of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Special Initiatives.
Chohan was appointed as the Punjab government’s spokesman in August.
Buzdar has given his approval to Chohan’s position as spokesman.
Since August 2018, Chohan has served as the Punjab Minister of Prisons. He had also served as the information minister for the province.
The Punjab administration has chosen spokespersons to assist simplify the distribution of information, defend its position, and enlighten the public about its policies.
