The appointment of Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as ISI DG has been announced.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – The government announced Lieutenant General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum’s nomination as the new Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency on Tuesday.

Lt Gen Anjum will assume possession of his new post on November 20, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, leaving Lt Gen Faiz Hameed in the seat until November 19.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister House, the notice came after a meeting between Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“The meeting was part of an ongoing discussion between the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff over the timing of the ISI leadership shift and the appointment of a new DG ISI.

During the procedure, “a list of officers was obtained from the Ministry of Defence,” according to the PM House statement. All of the nominees were interviewed by the Prime Minister. Today, the Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff completed a last round of consultations.”

“After a thorough consultation process, the name of Lt. Gen. Nadeem Anjum was approved as the new Director General of the ISI,” according to the press statement.

“The Prime Minister has examined and approved the appointment of PA-27007 Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, HI,” the announcement stated (M). The new selection was made from among the officers on the panel.”
