The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) authorised an increase of Rs1.68 per unit of power shortly after releasing the winter package for electricity users.
According to a statement made by NEPRA, the increased prices would not apply to individuals who utilised 200 or less units of power.
According to the statement, the recent rise in the basic tariff has resulted in an increase in the price per unit of energy for domestic users of Rs1.68, while the price per unit of electricity for commercial and other categories would be Rs1.39.
The revised charges went into force across the nation on November 1, and the country will receive Rs135 billion each year as a result, according to the announcement.
The recent increase in gasoline prices was followed by an increase in power rates.
According to a finance ministry statement, the new price of petrol has been determined at Rs145.82 per litre, effective today, November 5, with the Rs8.03 rise. It will stay in place for the next two weeks.
