On November 15, the ECP request a briefing from the government on electronic voting machines.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – On November 15, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) requested a briefing from the Ministry of Science and Technology on electronic voting machines (EVMs).

The commission has requested a full briefing with complete documented verification of the machine prototype, according to a letter written by ECP to the government.

According to the letter, the technical evaluation committee, which is led by Secretary ECP, would be briefed.

Following the briefing, ECP will make a decision on the EVM pilot project. In the next by-election in NA 133 Lahore, the commission is contemplating utilising the machines.
