KARACHI – The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an opposition coalition, is planning a public march in Karachi today to protest the administration of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) (Saturday).
Workers would demonstrate at Regal Saddar under the leadership of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) president and PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman, according to reports.
The gathering will also feature leaders from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and other political groups.
Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto, the Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), paid a visit to Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
According to the PPP chairman, there was no talk of rejoining PDM. The combined session of Parliament was postponed without any assurances, he noted.
According to Bilawal Bhutto, the government’s recent defeat in Parliament is a significant victory for the opposition.
Meanwhile, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that opposition party unity is critical at this time. He went on to say that this administration is a sham, and that the opposition is attempting to derail its nefarious goals.
Both leaders also discussed the current political situation and anti-government tactics.
