ISLAMABAD – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi stated on Wednesday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is working to eradicate the negative practises of past governments rather than imposing black legislation.
The minister stated in a joint session of Parliament that doubts were made about every election held after 1970. He went on to say that the moment has come to adjust our orientation and focus on the country’s growth.
We are tabling the legislation because we have the needed majority for their approvals, according to Qureshi. He stated that the PTI administration is committed to moving forward in a democratic manner.
We are adopting electronic voting machines (EVMs) to bury wicked inclinations, according to the minister.
Qureshi has stated that the government wants to implement key legislation to enhance election openness and defend citizens’ rights.
He told the media in Parliament House that the measure enacted today will improve the country’s democracy and democratic institutions.
