EVMs and other legislation help to promote democracy : PM

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan thanked the coalition parties for their cooperation in the legislation, saying that electronic voting machines (EVMs) and other measures are not for his caste but for building democracy.

Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan visited the lobby of government members in the House and spoke with them during the joint session of parliament. He also met with coalition and female lawmakers.

The prime minister complimented him on the passage of legislation, including electoral changes. He also met with Saira Bano of the Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) and praised the PML-F leadership.

Saira Bano also praised the premier, adding that they will continue to promote the law in the public’s benefit.

On the occasion, the prime minister stated that this legislation is not intended to benefit my caste but rather to improve democracy. “I appreciate the coalition parties’ support for the measure.” You all helped and played a significant part in laying the groundwork for a fair and transparent election.”

“Overseas Pakistanis are the backbone of our country’s economy, and now they will be allowed to participate in the election process,” he said.
