The West Indies Men’s team squads for their tour of Pakistan were revealed on Friday by the Cricket West Indies (CWI) selection panel. From December 13 to 22, the National Stadium in Karachi will host three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is).
In both versions, the panel named a handful of uncapped players. Newcomers for the One-Day Internationals include hitters Justin Greaves and Shamarh Brooks, as well as left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and fast-bowling allrounder Odean Smith.
Smith and Motie are also included to the T20I squad for the first time, along with Dominic Drakes, a left-arm fast bowling allrounder.
Motie was a travelling reserve for the recent ICC T20 World Cup, while Drakes and Smith were net bowlers before to the tournament’s commencement.
The ODI Series will be West Indies’ fourth of 12 in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League, in which the top seven teams will automatically qualify for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 in India. West Indies are now ranked eighth out of 13 teams and have the possibility to leapfrog Pakistan into seventh place.
