LAHORE – The Punjab government’s political team has agreed to meet with acting Governor Punjab Chaudhary Pervez Elahi to discuss the issue of an ordinance on the province’s new municipal structure. The meeting will be held in accordance with the directives provided by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
During the meeting, Secretary Local Body Noor ul Amin Mengal informed CM Punjab on the specifics of his meeting with acting Governor Chaudhary Pervez Elahi yesterday.
The CM was informed about Muslim League Q’s plan to incorporate a Tehsil council structure into the new municipal administration.
Furthermore, the secretary informed the CM of Muslim League Q’s suggestion to establish an educational requirement for the appointment of the mayor and chairman of the district council.
