After receiving an appreciative letter, Malik Adnan believes the Sialkot tragedy might be a turning moment.

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan handed Malik Adnan, the guy who risked his life to defend the Sri Lankan national from a mob, with a letter of thanks on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan attended a ceremony at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad in remembrance of the Sri Lankan civilian who was slain in Sialkot.

Priyantha Kumara’s family, the Sri Lankan government, and the people were all given condolences at the event.

Malik Adnan, speaking to the media after the event, claimed that his desire that day was to help Sri Lankan citizens in some way, and that he did not want any incident to occur that would degrade the country’s image.

I hope that this occurrence will serve as a watershed moment for the country, causing the entire Pakistani attitude to shift, because the next generation would be better nourished if the perspective shifts.

The Prime Minister praised Malik Adnan’s bravery in risking his own life to rescue the life of a Sri Lankan citizen. Malik Adnan would also get Tamgha-e-Shujaat, he stated.
