KABUL (Reuters) – According to unverified reports, a suicide bomber was murdered outside the gate of an Afghan passport office in Kabul on Thursday, and numerous persons were hurt in the incident.
According to an interior ministry spokesperson, the assailant was shot and killed while attempting to enter the passport office.
According to one Taliban member who saw the incident, numerous individuals were hurt, and the building and streets surrounding it were sealed off by Taliban security personnel.
In recent days, large groups of Afghans have gathered outside the passport office in a bid to get travel credentials after the service was reinstated following weeks of stoppage.
According to sources, Thursdays are set aside as a special day for Taliban officials to attend the passport office and get travel documents.
