(APP) – Along with the Pakistan Army and Navy, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is actively participating in rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas of Balochistan.

According to a PAF media release, during the operations, PAF transport aircraft transported 77,860 pounds of relief goods to flood-affected areas that were cut off by road due to heavy rains and flash floods.

Airlifted relief supplies include rations, tents, food items, medicines, drinking water, blankets, and essential machinery. Despite inclement weather conditions throughout the country, particularly in flood-affected areas, PAF pilots used all of their skills to meet the nation’s expectations during this difficult time.

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan Air Force, has directed the respective branches of the PAF to exert maximum effort in relief and rescue operations for the flood-affected people of Balochistan. PAF helicopters have also been deployed in flood-affected areas as part of the Army Aviation and Pakistan Navy helicopter fleets.
