(Web Desk) – Elon Musk doesn’t seem amused by Twitter’s decision to allow verified non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to be used as profile images. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO slammed the integration, saying it was “annoying” and that Twitter was squandering technical resources on it rather than focusing on reducing spam on the network.

NFT features were first made available to Twitter Blue subscribers on iOS, who were able to use NFTs as their profile images. The most recent choice differs somewhat from Twitter’s standard round-type display image. The form of this one is hexagonal.

Musk has already expressed his support for blockchain technology, but he has also expressed his unhappiness with it. His recent criticism of Twitter’s NFT move was most likely prompted by the rise of crypto giveaway scams perpetrated by persons impersonating Tesla CEO Elon Musk and other well-known figures.

In 2018, Twitter had to ban unverified accounts that changed their names to “Elon Musk” due to the problem.
