Pakistan’s bid for the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup 2022 championship came to an end in the Super League quarter-final match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, as they were defeated by Australia by 119 runs.
Pakistan asked Australia to bat first after winning the toss. Teague Wyllie, the Player of the Match, was the top batsman for the victors, with 71 runs off 97 balls (eight fours).
With Campbell Kellaway (47) and Corey Miller (64 off 75 balls), Wyllie amassed 86 runs for the first wicket and 101 runs for the second wicket (five fours, one six).
Pakistan was bowled out for 157 in 35.1 overs after losing wickets at regular intervals. Pakistan’s leading scorer, Mehran, continued to lead the team with 29 points from 19 balls (three fours, two sixes).
William Salzmann got three wickets for Australia, while Tom Whitney and Jack Sinfield each took two.
