Prime Minister Imran Khan will arrive in Quetta today (Tuesday) to bolster the morale of the military forces following a successful operation against terrorists in Panjgur and Naushki in Balochistan.
According to sources, the Prime Minister would meet with Balochistan’s Chief Minister and Governor. The premier will also be informed on the province’s security status and development projects.
PM Imran Khan will also be updated on the status of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The Prime Minister will be accompanied by federal ministries, MPAs, and special aides during his visit.
The Prime Minister will also pay a visit to Naushki, where he will be briefed on the operation against terrorists.
According to sources, the federal cabinet meeting scheduled for today is likely to be cancelled owing to Prime Minister Imran Khan’s travel to Quetta.
It is worth noting that the Pakistan Army said on Saturday that 20 terrorists were killed during the Panjgur and Naushki operations, and that security forces had finished the clearance operation.
Terrorists targeted security forces camps in Naushki and Panjgur late on February 2nd, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), and both attacks were effectively thwarted by fast response from soldiers at both places.
In Naushki, nine terrorists were slain, while four security personnel, including an officer, accepted shahadat while repelling the onslaught.
After an extensive exchange of fire, security personnel in Panjgur defeated the terrorist attempt, and the militants escaped the region. Security forces conducted a clearing operation to locate and apprehend any hidden terrorists in the area.
