On Thursday, General Nadeem Raza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, met with Oman’s leadership.
According to the ISPR, the CJCSC held separate meetings with H.E. Sayyid Shihab Bin Tariq Bin Taimour Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for Defence Affairs, H.E. General Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Namani, Minister of the Royal Office, Vice Admiral Abdullah Bin Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff Sultan’s Armed Forces, Rear Admiral Saif Bin Nasser Bin Mohsin Al Rahbi, Commander of Royal Navy of Oman and Air Vice Marshal Khamis Hammad Al Ghafri, Commander of Royal Air Force of Oman.
During the separate talks, both parties discussed many areas of interest and bilateral cooperation, such as security, counter-terrorism, and the current regional situation, particularly with regard to Afghanistan.
The officials also discussed ways to increase the level and breadth of military exchanges between the two nations and reiterated their commitment to forging deeper strategic relations.
According to Gen Nadeem Raza, Pakistan and Oman are two brotherly Islamic nations that are actively engaged in broadening and developing bilateral defence ties and taking steps to support regional peace and stability.
The work of Pakistan Armed Forces in capacity building of Omani Armed Forces was praised by Oman leaders. They also honoured Pakistan’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Earlier, upon landing at Muaskar Al Murtafa Camp, a well-dressed guard presented General Nadeem Raza with the guard of honour.
