We must remain vigilant in order to respond appropriately to any mishap: COAS

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited Karachi on Thursday.

The COAS attended the Colonel Commandant Ceremony at the Ordnance Centre in Malir, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Major General Syed Shahab Shahid was appointed Colonel Commandant of the Ordnance Corps.

Gen Bajwa praised the Corps for its service in both war and peace, particularly during the fight against terrorism. The ceremony was attended by a significant number of serving and former commanders and men from the Ordnance Corps.

The Army Chief paid a visit to the PAF Air War College Institute in Karachi.

In his address to the participants of the 35th Air War Course, he praised the PAF’s comprehensive professionalism and impressive achievements. Gen Bajwa advised the officers to make ongoing efforts to stay up with new advances and preserve a competitive advantage.

“Superiority in the modern battlefield can only be maintained if we remain aware of contemporary challenges and are prepared to confront them in accordance with emerging modern concepts,” he said, emphasising the importance of remaining vigilant in order to respond appropriately to any misadventure by the adversary.

The COAS also paid a visit to the Fauji Foundation (FF) premises in Karachi, where he was given a full briefing on FF’s existing and upcoming initiatives.

He praised FF’s performance and commitment to providing quality services while also contributing significantly to the national exchequer.

Earlier in the day, upon landing in Karachi. Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed, Commander Karachi Corps, accompanied COAS.
