ISLAMABAD: An Islamabad police sub-inspector was killed on Saturday during an exchange of fire with suspects in a four-wheeler at a private housing society in the Bhara Kahu neighbourhood.
Armed individuals in a car opened fire on labourers working at a private society, injuring three of them, according to authorities.
“As soon as the police were notified about the event, they pursued and intercepted the vehicle,” they stated, adding, “After an exchange of fire between the two sides, sub-inspector Liaquat sustained injuries and later died while being moved to a health facility.”
During the gunfight, a police officer was injured, and one of the individuals in the truck received bullet wounds and was later detained. “However, the other conspirator was able to flee,” they added.
The injured and the body were taken to the hospital for treatment and medico-legal procedures.
