Protesters in Nawabshah terminate their sit-in after a complaint against 17 suspects is filed.

Participants in the Nawabshah sit-in have ceased their protest after a complaint was filed against 17 people suspected of murdering five people over a property dispute in Nawabshah’s Nawab Wali Muhammad region.

Six persons, including the Station House Officer (SHO), were slain by armed men in the Nawab Wali Muhammad locality near Nawabshah over an agricultural property dispute. For the last three days, family members and villagers have been protesting by laying the dead bodies on the National Highway in the Qazi Ahmed neighbourhood.

Police opened a complaint against 17 persons engaged in the event following political, social, and civil society demonstrations across the region, according to details. In addition, seven suspects have been apprehended by police.

After the case was registered, the demonstrators dispersed quietly and buried the deceased corpses. Hundreds of people attended the victims’ funeral prayers. After three days, traffic on the National Highway in the Qazi Ahmed region has also been restored.
