The IHC has rejected Faisal Vawda’s appeal against the order to disqualify him.

The judgement on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda’s appeal against the disqualification order was denied by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday.

Faisal Vawda has contested the Election Commission’s decision to disqualify him for life. He was disqualified for life by the Election Commission for filing a fake affidavit in his candidacy papers.

Previously, Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the case and reserved his decision. Chief Justice Athar Minallah issued his decision on the petition, ruling that the plea against life imprisonment was inadmissible.

Meanwhile, the court stated that Faisal resigned from his post in the National Assembly in order to conceal his dual citizenship and was appointed as a senator. When the electoral commission requested proof of his nationality, he refused to produce it.
