Pakistan has named its ODI and T20I teams for the upcoming Australia series.

Pakistan have chosen Asif Afridi and Mohammad Haris in their teams for the three ODIs and one T20I against Australia.

Asif, a left-arm spinner, and Haris, a wicketkeeper/batsman, have been selected by the selectors after putting in strong performances in the domestic circuit. The selectors have continued to give opportunities to high-performing players as part of their strategy to expand the pool of top-class cricketers and build a formidable bench-strength.

Asif grabbed eight wickets in five matches for Multan Sultans in the HBL Pakistan Super League’s seventh edition, while Haris scored 166 runs in five matches for Peshawar Zalmi with an excellent strike rate of 186.5. Haris has already scored 219 runs for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in seven matches at an average of slightly under 44, while Asif has taken eight wickets for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an economy rate of 4.39 in seven matches.

Haris was picked in Pakistan’s team for the home series against New Zealand, however the series was cancelled due to the Kiwis’ return to their homeland on the day of the series opening.
