Pakistan Day is observed today.

On Wednesday, the nation will commemorate Pakistan Day with a pledge to ensure the country’s progress, prosperity, and strong defence.

Pakistan Day is a major date in the country’s history. Every year on March 23, Pakistan Day commemorates the passage of the Lahore Resolution, which resulted in the creation of a distinct nation for Muslims in South Asia in 1947. The Pakistan Resolution, as it was known at the time, was passed on March 23, 1940.

After Fajr prayers, special dua ceremonies were organised in mosques to pray for the eradication of the coronavirus as well as for the country’s unity, integrity, and prosperity. The day began with a 31-gun salute in Washington, D.C., and a 21-gun salute in each of the province capitals.

At all significant government buildings, the national flag has been raised.

The massive military parade in Islamabad will be the highlight of the day, with contingents from the three armed forces and other security personnel marching by while fighter jets perform aerobatic acrobatics.
