Case of the Video Scandal: The CEC is irritated by the petitioner’s absence from the hearing.

The absence of petitioners Farrukh Habib, Maleeka Bokhari, Kanwal Shauzab, and Aliya Hamza during the Senate Election Video Scandal case hearing before the Election Commission enraged the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) on Thursday.

During the hearing, the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) stated, “On what basis is the Election Commission blamed?” According to the CEC, the matter has been postponed 17 times, 10 of which were taken by PTI.

The lawyer for Yousaf Raza Gillani contended that the matter was simply halted to allow for a media trial. Hafeez Shaikh ran in the election against Mr. Gillani, but he did not file a challenge or make any public statements.

He went on to state that because the PTI did not apply as a party, all applicants came as individuals, and so the petitioners do not have the authority to file a lawsuit against Yousaf Raza Gillani.

The lawyer further stated that there is no direct accusation against Mr. Gillani in the entire case, and that the Supreme Court took no action since Arshad Malik’s footage lacked forensics.
