Fazl urges that the ruling of the NA deputy speaker be declared null and invalid.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan – Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chairman of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), said on Wednesday that the ruling of National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri should be declared null and void on a priority basis, and MNAs should be given the right to vote to elect a new prime minister.

He told the media on Wednesday that Imran Khan had breached the country’s constitution, and that the next Friday would be designated as “Day of Protection for Constitution,” and that if the constitution was broken, Pakistan’s survival would be jeopardised.

The issue arose as a result of the deputy speaker’s unlawful ruling, according to the PDM chairman, and the turmoil has put Pakistan’s sovereignty at risk.

He said that PTI workers were stirring the country’s young and democratic forces, which may lead to chaos. “We can’t make courts do what we want, but normal legal operations are causing a lot of uncertainty in the country.”

Fazlur Rehman also asked institutions to do their part in protecting the constitution, stating that the Supreme Court’s decision to take suo motu notice of the case was a wise one.
