Meeting of symbols : With 199 votes, the opposition elects Hamza as Punjab Chief Minister.

LAHORE, Pakistan – Following the barbed-wire encirclement of the Punjab Assembly, the opposition met at a local hotel and approved a motion electing Hamza Shahbaz as symbolic Punjab Chief Minister (CM) with 199 votes.

Maryam Nawaz, the Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, had declared that she would go to the Punjab Assembly to demonstrate sympathy with Hamza Shahbaz, after which she will check into a local hotel. Hamza Shahbaz received 199 votes at the meeting as Chief Minister. Shazia Abid, a member of the chairman panel, presided over the meeting. The meeting was also attended by all of the PML-female N’s members.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif felt upset during the meeting and hugged Hamza Shahbaz while praising him.

To demonstrate sympathy with the Punjab Assembly members, Maryam and Hamza boarded the bus. Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz continued to wave her hands in response to the workers’ shouts.

At the nearby hotel, members of the PML-N, Aleem Khan Group, Tareen Group, and Cheena Group also came.

Aun Chaudhry of the Tarin Group also arrived at a luxury hotel on this occasion, stating that Jahangir Tarin will arrive in Pakistan in three days.

Bilal Yasin, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Rana Mashhood, Ghazali Butt, Rana Muhammad Iqbal, Mian Margoob Ahmed, Mian Mujtaba Shuja, Manshaullah Butt, Khalil Tahir Sindhu, and Malik Nadeem Kamran, all of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, were also present at the meeting.

Hamza Shahbaz, speaking after the meeting, claimed that the House chose him and that he distrusted Imran Khan. Where are the Madina state claimants leading the country?
