Asad Qaiser, the Speaker of the National Assembly, and Qasim Suri, the Deputy Speaker, both resigned on Saturday.
Asad Qaiser resigned as speaker of the National Assembly, and PML-N leader Ayaz Sadiq presided over the vote on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion.
While chairing the lower chamber of parliament, Asad Qaiser declared, “I have decided to retire as speaker of the National Assembly.”
Qaiser claimed to have gotten “vital documents” from the cabinet, which he invited the opposition leader and Pakistan’s Chief Justice to see.
