Senator Dr Sania Nishtar resigned as chairman of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) on Monday.

Dr Sania Nishtar made the declaration on Twitter barely hours after numerous PTI legislators announced their resignations from the National Assembly and boycotted the poll to choose the next Prime Minister.

“I have resigned as Chairperson of the BISP. It has been a wonderful honour to assist the underprivileged, whose lives I have always hoped to touch “Dr. Sania Nishtar said on Twitter. “Thank you for the chance, @ImranKhanPTI.
