President Joe Biden contacted Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday to brief him on “ongoing US assistance” for Kyiv, with the Pentagon allegedly preparing to reveal a fresh multimillion-dollar aid package.
According to Zelensky, he and Biden discussed a “additional package of defensive and maybe macro-financial help.”
The hour-long talk took place amid claims in the US media that Washington is planning to reveal additional military support worth up to $750 million.
When asked about the rumours, a senior Pentagon official told reporters, “Stay tuned for other material that we might be able to talk about later on.”
