The Foreign Office summons the Afghan charge d’affaires in connection with a terror assault along the border.

Pakistan summoned Afghanistan’s charge d’affaires on Friday to protest the unjustified artillery firing of Pakistani military installations in Chitral on April 14.

Unprovoked artillery firing of Pakistani military stations in Chitral lasted 4-6 hours, with 35 artillery rounds launched from Afghan territory. Pakistan’s military forces responded appropriately to Afghan aggression, and the bombardment ceased.

Pakistan has also protested the use of Afghan land for terrorist actions within Pakistan. It was also conveyed to the Afghan administration that the Pak-Afghan border area should be secured and border communication improved.
