Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif spoke on the phone Tuesday with Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to eradicating all forms of polio from the country.
The phone call came after Pakistan reported a polio case in a child in North Waziristan after a 15-month hiatus.
Despite the fact that only one case of polio was recorded in 2022, the prime minister emphasised that his government is still committed to eradicating all forms of polio from the country.
