Russian forces have launched an assault on the besieged Azovstal steel facility in Mariupol, where Kyiv’s soldiers are holed up, according to the Ukrainian military.
In a social media statement, Sviatoslav Palamar, deputy commander of Ukraine’s Azov military unit, claimed, “A huge attack on the grounds of the Azovstal complex has begun, backed up by armoured vehicles and tanks.”
He went on to say that Russian soldiers want to “land a large number of personnel via boat.”
