On Saturday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) scheduled a hearing on Monday to hear a petition challenging the appointment of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM).

On Monday, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah will hear former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed’s appeal.

The anti-narcotics force had initiated a case against Hanif Abbasi on July 21, 2012, according to the petition when forming the federation through Secretary Cabinet and Mohammad Hanif Abbasi as a party. In the Ephedrine quota case, Hanif Abbasi was found guilty.
