A nationwide anti-polio campaign will begin on May 23

With three new polio cases reported, the government has decided to launch a nationwide immunisation campaign from May 23 to May 29.

Previous drives, according to a Ministry of Health spokesperson, were limited to certain areas, but this campaign will be launched throughout the country.

“The Government of Pakistan remains committed to eradicating polio and focusing on well-coordinated efforts at both the federal and provincial levels to realise the dream of making Pakistan a polio-free country,” said Minister for Health Qadir Patel in a message.

He emphasised the critical role of parents and caregivers in the success of subsequent vaccination campaigns.
