President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russian soldiers moved in eastern Ukraine on Tuesday, blasting important cities and intending “to destroy everything there,” as Moscow signalled it was preparing for a long war with its neighbour.
Zelensky grieved the thousands of Ukrainian men and women who have died three months after Russia launched its invasion, and he reinforced requests for heavy weaponry from Western allies, calling guns for Kyiv “the best investment in world stability.”
