KARACHI – Hammad Azhar, the head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), blasted the current administration on Sunday, claiming that raw material letters of credit (LCs) had not been issued and that 40% of the country’s businesses had shut down.

Speaking at a news conference, Mr. Azhar made fun of the current administration’s position on the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He said that the IMF managing director had rejected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s assertion about telephone conservation.

After giving his assessment of the economic situation, Mr. Azhar continued by saying that the nation was forced to adhere to the stringent IMF requirements.
