An important Russian envoy to the United States stated early on Wednesday that a “transparent and objective” international probe is required into the explosions at the Nord Stream natural gas pipelines.
Andrey Ledenev, minister-counsellor at the embassy, commented on claims that the US apparently advised Ukraine not to strike the pipelines beneath the Baltic Sea, saying that the US’ involvement in the explosions should also be “clarified”.
Ledenev was cited on twitter as saying, “It would be useful to think about the reasons for the stubborn unwillingness of the collective West to launch a transparent and objective international investigation in the terrorist attacks in the Baltic Sea under the auspices of the UN Security Council.”
